- Description
- This project designs and constructs a new hybrid native log and concrete block bulkhead, an 18% low angle equipment ramp, a 10% public access boat ramp with upland parking areas, and furnishes precast concrete median barrier units for use in a fuel containment facility at the existing Labouchere Bay Marine Access (Log Transfer) Facility on Prince of Wales Island. The bulkhead and the low angle equipment ramp are to be built on the existing footprint of the former log bulkhead at the site. The public access boat ramp and upland parking area will be built to the north of the existing log transfer area near the former logging camp, to maintain separation between the public access and industrial operations at the site. Site survey work is required in the area of the proposed public access boat ramp and parking area. The project site is at the existing Labouchere Bay Log Transfer Facility. The Labouchere Bay Log Transfer Facility is located on the eastern side of Labouchere Bay on the western side of Prince of Wales Island, 3.2 kilometers south of the unincorporated community of Port Protection and 58.0 kilometers northwest of Coffman Cove, Alaska. The project site is accessible by road from Thorne Bay, Coffman Cove, and Hollis, and accessible by boat and seaplane from Petersburg, Wrangell and Ketchikan. The estimated price range for this acquisition is between $ 250,000 and $ 500,000. The performance period is 365 days. The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website on or about May 20, 2003 for viewing and printing. Potential offerors are requested to the solicitation from the Internet if at all possible. Alternatively, a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907.228.6254. Fax requests should reference solicitation R10-05-03-35. Telephone requests will not be honored. Offers will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. AUTOMATIC NOTIFICATION: By registering to receive notification on posted synopses, you will be automatically notified via email of any changes to the project.
