Description

Provide all supervision, labor and material to perform the following: Project consists of the demolition of the existing 5000 +/- gallon harbor seal tank exhibit and awning and the construction of a new 10,000 +/- gallon harbor seal exhibit. The new tank will consist of glass panels and a natural habitat created with artificial stone. A new 100 sf +/- husbandry room will also be constructed with precast panels and a concrete roof. The work includes associated mechanical and electrical systems. 1 JOB. Performance period is 180 days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Place of performance is the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Marine Fisheries Service, NE Fisheries Science Center, 166 Water Street, Woods Hole, MA. The Government estimate for this work is between $250,000 and $500,000. Bid, Payment and Performance Bonds are required. IT IS MANDATORY THAT BIDDERS ATTEND THE SITE VISIT WHICH IS SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 4, 2003 AT 10:00 A.M. . BIDS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED FROM FIRMS THAT ATTENDED THE SITE VISIT. A BID SUBMITTED BY A FIRM THAT DID NOT ATTEND THE SITE VISIT WILL BE REJECTED AS NONRESPONSIVE. ALTHOUGH NOT MANDATORY, IT IS STRONGLY SUGGESTED THAT THE PRIME CONTRACTOR HAVE ANY PROPOSED SUBCONTRACTORS ATTEND THE SITE VISIT. The FSC for the project is Y199 and the NAICS Code is 234990, small business size standard is $28.5 million. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. THE SOLICITATION WILL ONLY BE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS. THE STATEMENT OF WORK AND DRAWINGS WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE ON CD. INTERESTED VENDORS SHALL EMAIL THE CONTRACT SPECIALIST AND REQUEST A COPY OF THE CD. REQUESTS FOR THE PLANS AND DRAWINGS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER JUNE 13, 2003. Telephone requests will not be honored. Numbered Note 26 applies.
