Description

The United States Coast Guard, Project Resident Office, New Orleans, LA intends to acquire from Microtech Electronics, Inc., on a sole source basis, an upgrade to the 47? Motor Life Boat Balmar Alternator System. Balmar Corporation/Microtech Electronics is the original equipment manufacturer of the existing DC electrical generating system for the 47? Motor Lifeboat. The upgrade requires integration of 224 ea 2.7" X Dual 1/2" Pulley, Plated, Keyed (2 per boat); 224 ea Alternator Operations Indicator Kit (2 per boat); and Kit Alternator Balancing Centerfielder Parts & Installation Kit, into the existing 12/24 electrical system. Balmar/Microtech has the ability to provide these parts without jeopardizing system reliability and warrantability. Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items will be utilized for this acquisition. The NAICS Code is 335312, Standard Size is 1000 Employees. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
