- Description
- The Department of the Navy, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Support/Commercial Derivative Aircraft Program Office is planning the acquisition of the T-48TS, an Undergraduate Military Flight Officer (UMFO) Multi-Place Aircraft Training System (MPATS). The T-48 is the T-39 replacement, and will consist of the aircraft with radar, the ground based training system and curriculum, and life cycle support for two years. Contract award is planned for the Second Quarter of fiscal year 2004. NAVAIR is in the process of conducting market research to identify commercial products that are capable of meeting the UMFO MPATS training objectives. A draft solicitation, as well as information on training objectives, mission profiles, and existing course curriculum, has been posted under N00019-T48TS at http://www.navair.navy.mil/doing_businss/open_solicitations. All comments from industry should be submitted by 2 June 2003. Additionally, NAVAIR is interested in observing radar demonstrations, the details of which can be found at the website. Potential offerors are encouraged to check this site regularly, as additional information may be provided when it becomes available. A notice will be posted to this site upon release of the official solicitation (tentatively planned for mid-August 2003 timeframe).
