Description
NA This announcement serves as market research for a contract for a system integrator for the Air Warrior program. The Air Warrior program located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama; it is part of the U.S. Army Project Manager Soldier Warrior (PM SWAR), Fort Belvo ir, VA. PM SWAR plans to release a competitive solicitation for a system integrator for the Air Warrior program. The system integrator will be responsible for integrating for the aviator a combination of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Contract or Furnished Equipment (CFE) for multiple aircraft types. This solicitation will cover the development and production of Air Warrior Block II and III capabilities. The development and production efforts are estimated to occur from FY04 thru at least FY13 time period and worth approximately $29 M and $139 M respectively. The CFE capabilities envisioned for Block II are: Aircraft Wireless Intercom; Electronic Data Manager; Advanced Anti-Exposure System; Advanced Laser Eye Protection. The CFE capabilities envisioned for Block III are: Upgraded Microclimate Coolant Unit; Integrated Aviator Helmet System; Voice/Data Interoperability with Land Warrior and FCS. These blocks also need to integrate with the existing Air Warrior Block I and other potential Block II & III provided GFE. The Block I systems already developed are: Microclimate Cooling System; Clothing and Individual Equipment Survivability; Equipment System; A-Kits; Ballistic Upgrade Plates; Laser Eye Protection; Communication Ear Plugs. The Government plans to issue a Request For Proposals on or about 13 June 2003, with a contract award mid-Nov 2003. The Government is interested at this time in developing a list of potential bidders. Specific solicitation documents pertinent to this sources sought synopsis, as well as important messages from the contracting officer, will be published in the Request for Proposal (RFP), scheduled for release on 13 June 2003.
