Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is F25600-03-T-0054 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2001-13. This acquisition is 100% set aside for small business concerns. The NAICS Code for this acquisition is 541519 with a size standard of 21 million. The government intends to issue a firm fixed price purchase order for the following products. Item 01 ? 100 ea red single pair 1000? spools of shielded PVC 22 gauge cables; Item 02 ? 20 ea black single pair 1000? spools of shielded PVC 22 gauge cables; ITEM CHARECTERISTICS FOR SINGLE PAIR CABLE This specification details requirement for a double shielded twisted pair cable with a drain wire and a PVC exterior jacket of specified color. The cable will be constructed with the following characteristics: The inner conductor shall consist of two insulated 22AWG stranded tinned soft annealed copper wire. The twisted pair shielding shall consist of an inner aluminum polyester shield with a braided tinned copper outer shield. The twisted pair shield cable shall have an outer PVC jacket with color determined by part number. Individual Requirements: Conductor - 22 AWG stranded tinned, soft annealed copper wire. Strands will consist of 7 - 30 AWG wires. Pair color - Black paired with white. Pair Construction - Twist two (2) individual insulated conductors into one (1) pair having two twists per inch. The insulation shall be made of low-density polyethylene, with a nominal wall thickness of 0.015. Pair Drain Wire - a 22 AWG stranded tinned copper drain wire will be located between the foil shield and braid. The drain wire will electrically contact the foil shield throughout the running length. Pair Shield - The twisted pair shielded shall consist of an aluminum or double sided metalized Mylar shielding tape spirally wrapped over the twisted pair conductors. The spiral wrap shielding shall have a lay equal to the pairs. The 22 AWG drain wire make electrical contact over not less than 85% of its length. An outer shield consisting of a woven tinned copper shield shall provide not less than 80% coverage. The outer shield shall have an equivalent AWG of not less than 17 gauges. The braid angle shall be nominally 45 degree relative to the twisted pair wire lay. The braid shield shall electrically contact the foil shield throughout the running length. Jacket - Over the twisted, double shielded cable, apply a specific color pigmented 80 degrees C polyvinylchloride (PVC) compound jacket with .025 minimum average wall thicknesses. The cable overall diameter will be no more than .22 inches. Dielectric Strength - The dielectrically strength of the insulation between conductor shall be greater than 150 VDC. UL style 2464 shall be used for the outer jacket. Capacitance - The capacitance between conductors shall be 25 +5 pf/ft; the capacitance between either conductor or a pair to its associated shield shall be 42 +5 pf/ft. Impedance - The cable will have a nominal impedance of 58 +5 ohms. Cable Length - Unless otherwise specified in the purchase order, all cable shall be delivered in 1000-foot continuous (no break) length. Mark actual length of wire reeled for each spool. Quality Assurance Provision: The manufacturer assumes responsibility to ensure the cable furnished under this specification is of good workmanship and in accordance with the manufacturer's normal quality assurance practice. Packaging: Preparation for delivery - All cable should be adequately protected according to normal practices in order to prevent contamination, loss, or damage in transit. Shipping containers for spools shall be marked with the customer?s address, which will be identified on the award. Item 03 ? 10 ea red five pair 1000? spools of PVC 22 gauge cable; Item 04 ? 10 ea black five pair 1000? spools of PVC 22 gauge cable; ITEM CHARECTERISTICS FOR FIVE PAIR CABLE This specification details requirement for a double shielded twisted one pair cable with a drain wire and a PVC exterior jacket of specified color. The cable will be constructed with the following characteristics: The inner conductor shall consist of two insulated 22AWG stranded tinned soft annealed copper wire. The twisted pair shielding shall consist of an inner aluminum polyester shield with a braided tinned copper outer shield.
