- Description
- The Department of Energy, Idaho Operations Office intends to issue a sole source simplified acquisition to Hopewell Designs, Inc. for maintenance and service for the automated irradiator software (AIS) used at Radiological and Environmental Science Laboratory (RESL) in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. It includes the upgrade of the Department of Energy Laboratory Accreditation Program (DOELAP) computer systems and modifications to existing software essential for DOELAP to meet requirements in the new ANSI/HPS 13.11-2001 standard. The automated process control systems currently in use at the DOELAP Dosimeter Irradiation Facility were designed and installed by Hopewell. The current software/hardware combination is of a proprietary nature. The upgrades include irradiator controllers, system workstation, system server, the controller specifications, labor for hardware and software upgrade, and training. Sources believing they have the capability of performing the upgrades for the irradiator systems currently in place and providing the necessary software and hardware for the controllers may contact the contract specialist prior to May 12, 2003.
