Description

The purpose of this synopsis is for the Naval Air Systems Command to announce its intent to negotiate on a sole source basis with Protective Materials Company (PMC), 14040 NW 58th Court, Miami Lakes, FL 33014, for Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) in the design and development of a non-ballistic prototype of an H-53 Ballistic Protection System (BPS). This procurement is the result of an unsolicited proposal, as defined in FAR 15.603(c). The potential BPS would provide significantly increased protection from injury with a minimal payload penalty to the aircraft. The intent is for a firm fixed price (FFP) contract with a six-month period of performance.
