- Description
- The Government intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract on a sole source basis to Ocean Design, Inc. located in Ormond Beach, Florida. This procurement effort is for a wet-mate, hybrid electrical and fiberoptic connector for joining cable segments at sea. The connector shall be compatible with long-haul commercial telecommunications cables and existing Navy cables. The connector shall contain multiple (up to eight) electrical and optical circuits. Electrical circuits shall operate at up to 10 KV at 15 amps. Optical circuit connections shall have less than 0.5 dB attenuation. The connector shall survive up to 100 mate and demate cycles at a hydrostatic pressure of 10,000 PSI. The delivered product shall be constructed from a proven design and shall be delivered within 16 weeks from award of contract. NAICS: 334417; Size Standard: 500 Employees.
