Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division Lakehurst, intends to procure a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Bench Top Magnetic Particle Unit (MPU) and associated technical and logistics support data and training necessary to support the unit in the field. The unit will be used to inspect the ferromagnetic parts of navy aircraft and support equipment onboard the fleet's aircraft carriers. The unit shall include the combined components of a bench top MPU (P/N 69360 or equivalent) and a separate mobile MPU (P/N M-500 or equivalent). The required basic quantity is 1 pre-production bench top MPU and 12 production bench top MPU and 1 pre-production mobile MPU and 12 production mobile MPU, along with requirements for technical and logistics data in accordance with Contract Data Requirements Lists, DD Form 1423. There will also be one option for one FMS Bench Top Magnetic Particle Unit (MPU). The bench top shall include: a fixed headstock, a movable clamping tailstock, a minimum size 5-turn 11 inch diameter coil, and a recirculating recovery system consisting of a pump, nozzle, hoses and container. The maximum length of the inspected part will be 39 ? inches and the maximum supported weight is at least 350 pounds. The bench top shall be constructed of steel with sides and basin bolted together for disassembly and transport. A common rail will mount the head/tailstock and coil along the length of the table. The bench top maximum floor space will be 2 ft by 4-? ft and a maximum table height of 36 inches. The power supply will deliver a minimum output of 4000 amps AC/HWDC; current rating based on two single 15 ft 4/0 cables. The power supply will deliver the magnetizing current to the headstock/tailstock or to the coil by cable connections through eitherend connectors supplied with the unit. The electrical requirements are 300 amps at 230+/-5 Vac or 150 amps at 460+/-5 Vac. The Government is anticipating a Firm Fixed Price type contract. Packaging and Marking for shipping shall be in accordance with best commercial practices. Delivery shall be FOB Origin. The solicitation will be posted on the NAVAIR homepage located at http:// www.navair.navy.mil. Select "Business" then "Doing Business With Us" and "Open Solicitations." Hard copies of the solicitation and amendments will NOT be mailed to the contractors. The government will not accept electronic proposals.
