Description

The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI)Schuylkill, located at Minersville, Pennsylvania, has a requirement for contract Dental Hygienist. The service is to be provided on site. Services will be required for a one-year base period, with the possibility of a one-year option period to be exercised at the sole discretion of the government not to exceed a total of twenty four months from the date of award. The Government intends to make a single award for this requirement. The estimated quantity for each twelve (12) month period of the contract is 1560 one-hour sessions. The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for health education, prophylaxis and topical fluoride application, screening examination, root planing, soft tissue curettage, dental and periodontal charting, treatment of localized alveolar osteitis and pericoronitis, placing and removing periodontal packs, temporary fillings, polishing, pit and fissure sealants, rubber dams and removing sutures. Contractor shall hold at a minimum, a two year college or equivalent to an associate degree in applied sciences. Must have passed written national boards and clinical regional boards. Must be licenced to practice in the State of Pennsylvania and have a medical liability insurance. A security investigation/clearance is required. The solicitation will be available on or after May 5, 2003, and will be distributed through the General Services Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available except in extreme circumstances AND only if issuance in this manner is determined to be in the Government?s best interest. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed through this site. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit an offer that will be considered for award. The requirement is 100% set-aside for small business concerns.
