- Description
- The United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Services intends to purchase the following items: Tapping Torque test machine - 1-F1508 - quantity 1 each F1508-3 Drilling Option - quantity 1 each F1508-7 Metal Rolling Option - quantity 1 each Specifications: Must be able to evaluate: a. Lubricant for thread cutting and thread forming operations. b. Tool materials and allow for predicting tool life c. The mach inability and formability of any available material. Must allow various test geometries of metal machining and forming by simple exchange of attachments. Must have a reactionary torque measurement system for true measurement of the direct torque resistance at the tool/nut blank interface, giving accurate coefficients of friction. Must allow for each individual nut blank to be secured concentrically in the test are in an identical manner each time for consistent test results. Must meet ASTM D5619, "Standard Test Method for Comparing Metal Removal Fluids using the Tapping Torque Test Machine. Test Machine Specifications include: Procunier 3 ALH Tapping head with 1.5mm lead screw Variable speed sensor and control Variable Speed Range Air Pressure Gage & Regulator Direct Reactionary Torque Measurement System Torque Calibration System Cutting and Forming Capabilities Capable of Accommodating option machine tool adapters Centering Plugs for thread forming and cutting operations Nut Blank Sizing Gages: Forming and Cutting Computer Data Acquisition (as listed or better) Personal Computer System: Pentium 4, 1.6 ghz, 128 mb ram Hard Drive: 20 GB Floppy Drive: 3 ? inch Color Monitor: 17" Color Printer: Epson Stylus Zip Drive or Equivalent data back-up system Computer Software is to include: Data Acquisition Program with ability for trending and Report Printing Spreadsheet Compatible File Generation Real Time and historic trending User selectable torque averaging Data Plotting with percent efficent calculations Manual manipulation of plotting curves Consumable: Cutting Tap Specimen Forming Tap Specimen Cutting Nut Blanks (10) and Forming Nut Blanks (10)
