Description
THIS IS A SECOND NOTICE FOR THIS PROCUREMENT. DISREGARD THE ORIGINAL NOTICE POSTED ON MARCH 10, 2003. THE SOLICITATION IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOADING. THERE IS AN EXPECTED CHANGE TO THE SPECIFICATIONS IN THE SOLICITATION, THEREFORE, AN AMENDMENT TO THE SOLICITATION WILL BE POSTED CHANGING THE SPECIFICATIONS AND EXTENDING THE DUE DATE FROM 4/24/03 TO 5/15/03. The U.S. Geological Survey, Geologic Hazards Team, Central Region has a requirement for a maximum need of approximately 83 Integrated Accelerometers/Data Acquisition Systems. The Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS) serves the needs of the earthquake monitoring, engineering, and research communities as well as national state, and local governments, emergency response organizations, and the general public. The deployment of a multi-tiered network of digital seismic recorders and sensors that make it possible to record motions over wide ranges of amplitude and frequency. Given the constraints placed on the purchase by the Government Performance and Results Act, the integrated accelerometer/data acquisition system purchased must be existing, upgraded, or new improved versions of off the shelf systems of a type or types that have been utilized in previous deployments for periods long enough to allow performance criteria to be available. It is anticipated that multiple awards will made under this procurement in order for the required quantities to be delivered within the required delivery schedule. The new contract is scheduled for a 12-month base period, with 4 one-year renewal options. No telephone or fax requests will be accepted. This procurement is a partial set-aside for small business under NAICS Code 334519 Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacture, with a size standard of 500 employees. This is a commercial item acquisition, however simplified procedures are not being used. The RFP Solicitation is available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov.
