Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture intends to procure an Carbon and Nitrogen Analyzer. The analyzer will be used for determination of carbon and nitrogen content utilizing high temperature combustion; The specifications as a minimum are: automatic sampling device, high temperature combustion from 900 - 1000C; automatic ash removal (required due to high ash content of some samples); ability to analyze 2m. Or greater liquid samples; Window PC based control software with data exportable to other applications (e.g., Excel); 12 month warranty covering parts and labor; 2 day on-site installation and training; sample size capability requirements - feed samples 500mg - 1000mg, cow manure - 1 gram and 3 cm3 volume, swine effluent - 2 ml, poultry litter - 1 gram and 3 cm3 volume, sandy soil - 2 gram, humic soil - 1 gram; analyzer must be capable to be upgraded to sulfur analysis at a later date. The system will be delivered to the USDA, ARS, CSRL, WM&FRM, Department of Agriculture, East 269 Western Kentucky University, 1 Big Red Way, Bowling Green, Kentucky 42101-3576.
