Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division intends to initiate a procurement for Serial Communication Adapter, 8 Port DB25 Octopus Cable, and SCA Software Drivers on a sole source basis with Sunhillo Corporation, 344 North Route 73 Suite B, Berlin NJ 08009-9711 for the part number and items listed below, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Sunhillo Corporation is the sole manufacturer of this equipment at the present time. The Serial Communications Adapter, 8 Port DB25 Octopus Cable, and SCA Software Drivers must support connectivity for the Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility (FACSFAC) Air Control Tracking System (FACTS) AN/FYK-17C system. The Sunhillo Corporation SCA-03 (Windows Version) Part Number 130017 is the only commercial-off-the-shelf items that can meet the Government minimum requirements. This action will be processed as a commercial acquisition in accordance with FAR Part 12, and simplified acquisition procedures authorized by FAR Subpart 13.5 will apply. The contract line item numbers and descriptions are Base Period: CLIN 0001 Serial Communication Adapter, SCA-03 (Windows Version) P/N: 130017, Qty of 110 Each, CLIN 0002 8 Port DB25 Octopus Cable, Qty of 110 Each; CLIN 0003 SCA Software Drivers, Qty of 110 Each; Option Period I: CLIN 0101 Serial Communication Adapter, SCA-03 (Windows Version) P/N: 130017 Qty of 50 Each, CLIN 0102 8 Port DB25 Octopus Cable, Qty of 50 Each, CLIN 0103 SCA Software Drivers, Qty of 50 Each; Option Period II: CLIN 0201 Serial Communication Adapter, SCA-03 (Windows Version) P/N: 130017 Qty of 40 Each, CLIN 0202 8 Port DB25 Octopus Cable, Qty of 40 Each, CLIN 0203 SCA Software Drivers, Qty of 40 Each. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code for this requirement is 541512 with a size standard of $21 Million. The proposed contract for this equipment shall be for a period of one (1) Base Year Period, and two (2) Option Year Periods. This synopsis is for the basic contract and all subsequent delivery order. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, responsible interested parties may submit information in which they identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Responses received by 3:30 PM Eastern Standard Time 29 April 2003 will be considered by the Government solely for the purpose of determining whether it will initiate a competitive procurement. The Government reserves the right to process the procurement on a sole source basis based upon the responses received. The Government will not pay for any information received.
