- Description
- The objective of this project is to provide national technical assistance to increase the capacity of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) providers to address reproductive health issues among women of reproductive age, pregnant women, and adolescents, and health needs of children and infants. CDC is looking for a nationally capable organization to work cooperatively with health departments and other MCH constituents to: 1) Promote the Safe Motherhood and Infant Health approach among state MCH public health programs, key national and state stakeholders, and policy makers. 2) Enhance skill development for state MCH programs in data collection, analysis, and utilization to identify trends in family, women?s, and perinatal health outcomes for policy development and program planning. 3) Support state MCH (maternal and child health) public health programs to strengthen systems of services for women across the lifespan, including adolescents. 4) Support state MCH public health programs in the assessment and prevention of birth defects and developmental disabilities. 5) Establish national programs to prevent behaviors that place young people at risk for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), unintended pregnancy, and other important health problems. Award of a firm-fixed price purchase order, using acquisition for commercial items/services procedures, is contemplated. The order will include the following periods of performance: Base Period---12 months from date of award; Option Period---12 months from date of successful completion of the base period and exercise of option to add this option period. CDC will consider all responsible sources responding to the RFQ. All questions/concerns about the RFTQ shall be submitted via e-mail to BBiltz@cdc.gov. The tentative issue date is April 28, 2003. The complete solicitation package will be available and posted at this site for downloading when issued. No hard copy of the solicitation package will be mailed. The associated NAICS code is 923120.
