- Description
- NAICS Code: 541620 NAICS Code: 541620. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to award a sole source Purchase Order to the Public Health Institute of Berkeley, CA. The purpose of this acquisition is to obtain monitoring information sources on pollution concentrations from recently constructed buildings in which a substantial number of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) practices were utilized. This information will be used by the EPA to validate and improve its guidance on green building performance in respect to IAQ. Due to the overriding emphasis on energy efficiency, waste minimization and resource sustainability so far in the green building movement, there has been a scarcity of buildings that address IAQ and limitations on emissions of materials and products purchased for construction. Public Health Institute, a contract vehicle for the California Department of Health Service, is uniquely qualified to perform this requirement. Proposed monitoring and analysis of the existing data is crucial to the IAQ guidance. It is therefore determined that the Public Health Institute is the only vendor able to fulfill this requirement. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541620. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. However, any firm who believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement stated herein may submit a response, which if received within 10 calendar days of the date of this announcement, will be considered. Interested firms shall provide detailed information outlining their capabilities. Any response failing to provide the aforementioned data will be disregarded. Responses to this posting must be in writing. A determination not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions should be directed to Jami Rodgers via email at rodgers.jami@epa.gov.
