- Description
- NAICS Code: 541620 NAICS Code 541620. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is intending to award a sole source Purchase Order to American Meteorological Society (AMS) Headquarters. The purpose of this acquisition is to provide support for AMS to conduct forums on improving responses to climate prediction, weather and public health. AMS is uniquely qualified to perform this requirement. AMS has been used many times by government organizations for conference sponsorships because of their established expertise in the field, their contracts throughout the government, the private sector and the academic community. When surveying the market, AMS was found to be the only organization holding national meetings in 2003-2004 that engaged the above subjects. It was also found that AMS was the only source that can provide public and private sector leaders with enhanced information for responding to climate predictions and climate-induced health risks in a forum setting. Due to past performance, level of expertise and the lack of competition that can meet EPA's objectives, it is therefore determined that AMS is the only vendor able to fulfill this requirement. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541620. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. However, any firm who believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement stated herein may submit a response, which if received within 10 calendar days of the date of this announcement, will be considered. Interested firms shall provide detailed information outlining their capabilities. Any response failing to provide the aforementioned data will be disregarded. Responses to this posting must be in writing. A determination not to compete the proposed Purchase Order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions should be directed to Jami Rodgers via email at rodgers.jami@epa.gov
