Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Lower Snake River District (LSRD) requires botanical expertise to continue inventory work for the federally proposed plant species, slickspot peppergrass (Lepidium papilliferum). This Statement of Work applies only to the Jarbidge FO area, located southeast of Boise. More specifically, the Jarbidge FO is east of the Bruneau River, south of the Snake River, and west of Twin Falls, Idaho. It encompasses approximately 1,400,000 acres, with a minimum of 35,000 acres planned for inventory in 2003. Slickspot peppergrass is an annual to biennial plant known only from six counties in southwest Idaho. Approximately 70 sites occupied by this federally proposed species are presently known. Slickspot peppergrass habitat is comprised of small, barren, poorly drained sites in Wyoming big sagebrush habitat. The best time to inventory for this species is generally May 10 ? June 30, depending on the year (i.e. temperature, precipitation).
