Description
The Government is seeking professional design services from a architect-engineering firm to develop working drawings and specification to remove and replace and relocate designated air handling units (ahu). The design project work shall meet VA HVAC Design Manual, NFPA, OSHA, and NEC electrical requirements. Scope of design work is summarized as follows: (a) Dental; install a new AC Penthouse and routing all necessary utilities from designated existing sources and examine existing conditions for adding a new heating water supply to the new VAV system; (b) Cafeteria; install a new Penthouse and re-routing all necessary utilities from designated existing sources. Remove ceiling mounted air handlers and replace units with variable air volume boxes in line with new single unit; (c) Building #6; remove existing floor mounted air-handler, replace unit with a single floor mounted unit and connect new unit to existing supply and return ducts. All designs shall be accomplished in accordance with VA guidelines and specifications, which are available on the internet at http://www.va.gov/facmgt/standard. A/E shall pay particular attention to USAF, NFPA, BOCA, VA handbook 7610 space criteria and VA program guide PG-18-14 "Room Finishes, Door and Hardware schedule". The architect-engineer will make site visits as necessary to survey existing conditions as required to determine existing as-built conditions affecting this project. A/E shall field verify every aspect that relates to the project, coordinate visits with the Project Manager. A/E must be proficient in the use of Auto Cad 2000 and have access to Microsoft Word 5.0 or higher. Estimated cost of construction is $1,000,000.00 - $2,000,000.00. Area of consideration is restricted to within sixty (60) miles of the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive Division, Pittsburgh, PA. 15240. Those interested firms within the area of consideration shall submit three (3) copies of current SF-254 and SF-255 to the attention of J. E. Regan (Contracting Officer) at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA. 15206. The current NAICS code is 54131. Small business size standard is $4.0 million. This acquisition is open to businesses both large and small. Due date for SF-254's and SF-255's is May 19, 2003 at close of business (COB). This acquisition is subject to the availability of funds for Fiscal Year 2003. This is not a request for proposal.
