- Description
- The Veterinary Resources Program (VRP) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), seeks a readily available source of Serology Assay Testing Services and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) assays to meet the needs of the VRP and the NIH. The overall objective of this acquisition is to obtain the services of a commercial laboratory for the serological analysis of rodent sera and PCR assays used to monitor the health of NIH animal colonies. The specific objective is to have a contractor receive serology samples, perform testing on these samples and report the results back within 3 workdays to the Project Officer and/or provide the results directly to the submitting veterinarian via web publication. Contractor responsibilities include performing the serology testing necessary for complete laboratory animal health monitoring processes. In addition to the serological testing, PCR assays may be requested for confirmation of an agent?s presence in an animal facility or may be used in conjunction with serology as a method of health surveillance. Specific tasks are discussed in detail in the Statement of Work (SOW). The North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) Code is 541710. The small business size standard for NAICS Code 541710 is 500 employees. The solicitation document will be released on or about April 30, 2003, with an anticipated due date of May 30, 2003. The planned contract award date is October 15, 2003.
