Description
SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston intends to award a sole-source contract = to Science Applications International Corporation, 10260 Campus Point Drive, San Diego, CA 92121 to provide IM-269 Electronic Dosimeters. General Specifications:= The IM-269 Electronic Dosimeter is a man-portable radiation detection instrument that can be calibrated quickly using existing interface equipment to a personal computer and the dosimeter?s reader. It is designed for use in applications where the presence and level of radioactivity must be determined instantaneously. 1 PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS a. Maximum Size: 1? x 3.5? x 4? b. Maximum Weight: 1 pound c. Temperature Ranges: -28=B0 to 65=B0C (operating) -62=B0 to 71=B0C = (storage) d. Mechanical Clip: Sufficient to hold dosimeter against a constant f= orce equal to five (5) pounds of force. e. Ruggedness: The dosimeter shall withstand a drop test from 3 feet = on to a hard-wood floor. f. Electromagnetic Pulse: Hardened to withstand pulses of 50 kilovolt= s per meter in magnitude and 0.3 microseconds in duration. 2 DETECTOR CHARACTERISTICS a. Range: a1. Dose Rate: 0-999mR/hr 1-999R/hr a2. Dose:0-999mR 1R-200R b. Saturation: 1000 R/hr c. Radiation: Ionizing gamma and X-ray d. Dose Rate Accuracy: + 30% over entire functional range e. Dose Accuracy: + 20% for low energy photons (50-80KeV) + 15% for h= igh energy photons (80KeV - 1.3 MeV) 3 POWER SUPPLY The alarming dosimeter shall operate on its own internal battery power supply. Means shall be supplied for removal and the introduction of new batteri= es without loss of calibration and default valves. Removal and insertion = of new batteries should take less than one (1) minute. a. Battery Type: locally commercially available batteries b. Battery Life: 336 hours continuous under low level, ambient radiat= ion conditions. c. Battery Test: Display indicating battery ?OK?. 4 OUTPUTS/ALARMS a. Readout type: Display shall be digital. The displays will indicat= e the current dose rate and accumulated dose values on demand. b. Display: Backlight, visible under right conditions c. Display Format: Digital alpha/numeric (x mR/hr or x mR) (x R/hr or= x R) d. Display Options: Exposure rate and accumulated exposure e. Alarm: User adjustable alarm setting for dose and dose rate. f. Alarm Type: Audible (> 60 dB) at a distance of 1 meter g. Settable Dose Alarm A Firm-Fixed Price Type contract is anticipated. The total estimated v= alue if $109,500.00. The FSC Code is 6665. The NAICS Code is 334519 with a si= ze standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
