- Description
- The United States Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Engineering Field Activity Mediterranean issues a notice of intent to bid for the construction of the following NATO project: Zappala Roads and Utilities Phase III, Electrical, Solicitation # N33191-02-B-1063. The project is a single-phased project, located in the Flight Line Area, Aviano Air Base, Italy. The scope of work includes upgrading of the existing electrical power distribution system within the Flight Line and Zappala Area. The project will replace the existing3x95 square millimeters, direct burial primary feeder cable with a new 3x150 square millimeters cable in underground concrete encased duct bank. Work also includes the upgrading of 37 electrical substations, and providing for a telemonitoring system to provide selectivity coordination among all substations, fault protection and equipment operational status. The substation upgrading includes replacing obsolete primary switching equipment and providing new transformers and low voltage distribution switchboards, to meet increase in power demands. Questionnaires will be sent to eligible bidders.
