- Description
- The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), National Veterinary Service Laboratory (NVSL) Ames, IA 50010, intends to procure 2000 plastic calipers. This will be a FIRM-FIXED price award. Delivery shall be FOB Destination to Ames, IA 50010. First Article Approval-Government Testing, and inspection and acceptance testing at destination will be required after award. First article samples and production quantities shall be produced at the same facility. NAICS Code: 326199. Simplified procurement procedures will be used as well as commercial item acquisition regulations per FAR 12. THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses which are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-13. Applicable FAR clauses are incorporated by reference: Prompt Payment 52.249-1 (4/84); Changes--Fixed price 52.243-1 (8/87); Instruction to Offerers - Commercial Items 52.212-1 (10/00); Evaluation-Commercial items 52.212-2 (10/97); Offerer Representations and Certifications 52.212-3 (10/98); Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items 52.212-4 (4/98); Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items 52.212-5(10/98); and First Article Approval?Government Testing (Sept 1989) Alt (Sept 1989) 52.209-4. Quotations are due by Wednesday April 16, 2003, 10:00 AM Local time. SPECIFICATIONS: Picture of caliper is avalible upon request call Dennis Barry (612) 336-3219. Vernier Calipers - non-conducting, corrosion resistant, precision vernier calipers molded in rigid plastic. Parallel jaws are 40mm (1.75) deep, reading scales create no parallax, and a background of black numbers on plastic which are easily read. A fine adjusting thumb roller adjusts for precise measurements - outside jaws only are required. Must have lock. Upper scale to be in millimeters. Overall length 213 mm (8-3/4") Extra strength on jaw. Will be used for single hand operation. There is no color preference for plastic used. Indicate delivery date of mold sample to be sent for review. Two - Three mold samples to be submitted for review before product to be manufactured. Indicate delivery time of items to be manufactured following approval of mold. The mold will become the property of the USDA and would like to receive it upon the completion of the 2000 items..
