Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for rental, with operators, of eight belly dump trucks for hauling milled asphalt on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, Siskiyou County, California, in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is RFQ-(Request for Quotation) R5-NP-14-03-41. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-12. The NAICS code is 237990 and the size standard in millions of dollars is $28.5. Item Description: The above-mentioned asphalt will be hauled from an existing stockpile in south Mt. Shasta, Siskiyou County, California to two different locations: (1) Old McCloud Road, Forest Service Road 41N31, east off Mt. Shasta Boulevard, from the Shasta-Trinity National Forest boundary just east of Mt. Shasta, 2 miles east to Ski Park Boulevard; (2) Toad Lake Road, Forest Service Road 40N64, west from North Fork Road, Forest Service Road 41N53, approximately 0.25 miles from South Fork Road just west of South Fork Bridge - project limits are from North Fork Road 0.6 miles west on Toad Lake Road. Those interested in obtaining maps of the project area should submit a request by email to nruffner@fs.fed.us or by FAX to 530 242-2238. Please cite solicitation number and state that you wish to be sent the maps. Quoters are to submit a price per ton for an approximate quantity of 10,000 tons. It is estimated that the milled asphalt will require eight belly dump trucks, 5 days, 9 hours per day for a total of 360 hours. Acceptance shall be made at destination. Estimated start work date is June 2, 2003. Contractor shall coordinate pick-up and delivery with Sean Baldwin on the Mt. Shasta Ranger District, telephone 530 926-9629. The Government will award a single contract to the responsible quoter whose quote is the most advantageous to the Government considering price and related factors. The FAR provision 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commerical, (October 2000) applies to this solicitation. Quoter shall include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items (July 2002) with its offer. Quotations signed by an official authorized to bind the organization shall be submitted on company letterhead and are due March 24, 2003 by 4:30 p.m. PST, to Nancy Ruffner, USDA Forest Service, Northern Province Acquisitions, 2400 Washington Avenue, Redding, CA 96001. Quotations may be faxed to (530) 242-2238. Quoters will provide a price per ton and a list of the make and model of belly dump trucks that will be utilized for this project. Quoters are responsible for complying with this notice and any amendments thereto. Amendments to the RFQ will be published in the same manner as the initial synopsis/solicitation.
