Description
This is a Market Research, Sources Sought synopsis seeking names of potential offerors capable of providing methodologies and techniques to affect repair of nonfunctional Chemical Agent Monitors (CAM) and Automated Chemical Agent Detector Alarms (ACADA). The solicitation number is assigned for administrative purposes only. This is not a formal request for proposal and no contract will result from this synopsis. Any subsequent solicitation will be synopsized prior to release. MCLB is conducting market research in an attempt to promote full and open competition to the maximum extent practicable. The CAM is a portable, hand-held device capable of detecting blister or nerve agent contamination on persons, equipment, and elements of the surrounding environment. The ACADA is a man-portable chemical warfare agent detection system, which also detects the presence or absence of nerv e and blister agents. These instruments are controlled items that must be maintained at high rates of availability for use by United State Marine Corps Forces deployed worldwide. The Marine Corps will assess any process that the contractor proposes to affect repairs and maintain readiness. Any responses should address the following issues: Sources of repair parts / assemblies; How availability rates will be maintained and at what levels; How repairs will be performed including conversion of 1.5s and upgrade of 2.0s; How and what management and tracking data is developed, collected, and distributed; Test and acceptance procedures; Potential fixed costs of repair; Potential Time & Material costs of repair; Safety procedures to be utilized; NRC rules and restrictions; Warranty length, limitations, and management; Qualifications of technical and management perso nnel; Binary data for circuit cards. Additional items may be addressed. Entities interested in maintaining the Marine Corps inventory of CAMs and / or ACADAs may reply to this RFI by addressing the elements above and any processes that would be used. Replies shall be provided in duplicate (one original and one copy). There is no page limit for the data. Information received in response to this RFI will be safeguarded adequately from unauthorized disclosure. Proprietary processes or data must be clearly marked and documented as such. All contractor provided materials will be reviewed and maintained by authorized Government employees of Marine Corps Systems Command and Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, Ga. Respondents should include your firms Dun and Bradstreet Number (DUNS), Tax Identification Number (TIN) and Central Contractor Register Number (CCR). The Govern ment will not pay for any materials furnished in response to this synopsis. Submittals furnished will not be returned to sender.
