Description
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) intends to negotiate a seven month contract with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for a project entitled ?Determination of the Most Appropriate Outcome Variables Using the Project MATCH Data Set.? The proposed contract will provide analysis of the Project MATCH data set, specifically information from the Drinker Inventory of Consequences Instrument, to analyze the relationship of problems to drinking measures, time course and patterns of relapse, individual versus group level change, modifying factors, and related methodological issues. Authority: 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is uniquely qualified to perform this work because they initially conceptualized and developed the approach to using consequences data in conjunction with drinking data to express outcome results, empirically validated the approach, and have continued to develop this line of research over the years. They also have extensive experience working with the large and multi-layered Project MATCH data sets that gives them the ability to be the most effective and efficient in completing the contract requirements. Inquiries must be made in writing, telephone inquiries are unacceptable. Inquiries should be submitted to NIAAA no later than May 2, 2003. See Numbered Note 26.
