Description
The Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR), Office of the Director, National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to enter into a contract for designing, administrating, and conducting an annual Summer Training Institute on Randomized Clinical Trials Involving Behavioral Interventions. In consultation with internal and external advisors, OBSSR has concluded that behavioral and social scientists require knowledge and skills in conducting randomized clinical trials (RCTs) for behavioral and social interventions to prevent and treat disease as well as promote health. OBSSR has developed and offers a model two-week course (http://obssr.od.nih.gov/Conf_Wkshp/RCT/RCT_Info.htm). OBSSR is now seeking a qualified source to build upon and revise this model as necessary, and to administer and conduct the course for a base year and four option years, commencing in the summer of 2003. OBSSR requires a Contractor with scientific forum experience to provide qualified instructors, facilities, room, and board for approximately 30 to 50 members of the behavioral science community. RFP NLM 02-104/HBG will be available in electronic format only. Paper copies of the solicitation and any subsequent amendments will not be issued; therefore, prospective offerors are encouraged to register for email notification through FedBizzOpps. The RFP may be downloaded on or about July 10, 2002 from the National Library of Medicine?s World Wide Web home page. The NLM home page URL is http://www.nlm.nih.gov/oam/oam.html. All responsible sources may submit a proposal that will be considered by the National Library of Medicine. See Numbered Note 26. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (27-JUN-2002). IT ACTUALLY FIRST APPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 07-APR-2003.
