Description
NOTE: DUE TO CHANGES IN THE SPECIFICATION, THIS SOLICITATION WAS PREVIOUSLY POSTPONED BY AMENDMENT 4, DATED 23 DECEMBER 2002. THIS AMENDMENT REOPENS THE SOLICITATION. SEE DESCRIPTION BELOW. This is a solicitation notice. This procurement is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The procurement will be a combination firm fixed price/indefinite quantity type contract for Maintenance, Repair and Minor Alterations to the Condenser Water Cooling System and associated equipment. The work includes the performance of recurring services such as preventive maintenance and indefinite quantity work items such as service calls and repairs and alterations of equipment. Services shall be provided on the following types of equipment: Centrifugal Pumps, Motors, Motor Starters and Controllers, Cooling tower; structures, components, and systems including fan, motor, gear reducer and basin heaters, Electric and pneumatic valve actuators and controls, Temperature, pressure, level and flow sensors and transmitters. This procurement contains a base period and 4 option years, which may be exercised by the Government in accordance with the schedule. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811310 and the size standard is $6.0 million. Per the Debt Collections Improvement Act of 1996, the DFAR requires all contractors to be registered in the Department of Defense Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database. Be advised, failure to register in the CCR makes an offeror ineligible for award of DOD contracts. There will be a pre-proposal site visit. Information regarding this site visit, and access to the site will be specified in the solicitation. The solicitation will be available on or about 22 April 2003. In accordance with FAR 5.102(a)(7), availability of the solicitation will be limited to the electronic medium. Hard copies will not be available. The address for downloading this solicitation is www.esol.navfac.navy.mil. You must first create an account. You may view the site without an account, but you will not be able to register for a solicitation unless you have an account. Once registered, you will receive an e-mail informing you when the Request for Proposals (RFP) package becomes available. An official planholder's list will be maintained on-line and can be printed from the website. Notification of any changes to this solicitation (Amendments) shall be made on the internet. It is therefore the contractor's responsibility to check the internet site daily for any posted changes to the solicitation plans and specifications.
