Description

NA The project consists of the construction of a Security Forces Operations Facility, at Cannon Air Force Base, Curry County, New Mexico. Competition for this acquisition is restricted to eligible 8(a) contractors with a bona fide location in New Mexico that are capable to perform under NAICS Code 236220/SIC Code 1542, with a size standard of $28,500,000.00. All other firms are deemed ineligible to submit offers. The magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Bonding will be required f or this acquisition. The offerors attention is directed to Section 00100 in the Solicitation for information regarding the tour of the site. Plans will be issued on or about April 23, 2003, with proposals due on or about May 21, 2003. This solicitatio n will not be issued on paper. Work consists of the construction of an approximately 20,000 square foot facility. The proposed facility is a replacement and consolidation of existing facilities for the Security Forces and Office of Special Investigations (OSI). It includes administrative space, a law enforcement desk, weapons storage, armory, and correctional area. The project also includes all necessary site work, utilities, mechanical, electrical, communications, fire protection and security systems. Demolition of two existing structures, Bldg. 682 (1,094 SM) and Bldg. 582 (900 SM) is part of the project. The approximate construction period is 365 calendar days. The project will be advertised as a Request for Proposal. Competitive proposals will be evaluated based on the evaluation criteria set forth in the solicitation package. Evaluation by the Government will result in selection of a firm that represents the best overall value to the Government. Proposed procurement will result in a fixed-price contract. This solicitation will be issued using electronic b id sets (EBS) and provided on compact disks-read only (CD-ROM) at no charge to all registered plan holders. Any prospective offeror interested in proposing on this solicitation must register to be placed on the Plan Holders List. If you are not registere d, the United States Government is not responsible for providing you with notification of any changes to this solicitation. Bidders must self-register on the Internet.
