Description
*** Modification*** Due to technical difficulties, the issue date as well as the response date are hereby extended. The new anticipated issue date is April 9, 2003 with a due date of April 30, 2003The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution, Gilmer, West Virginia, intends to make a single award for the provision of a pharmacy technician. The contract shall consist of a 12 month base period and one 12 month option period for renewal. The estimated quantities for the base period and each option are as follows: A session is defined as three hours. Services are to be provided on a schedule mutually decided between the parties, and will equal 10 sessions per week. Duties include: interpret physician orders and mid-level practitioners orders; help pharmacists in all aspects of the pharmacy duties under the direct supervision of the Chief Pharmacist; observe patients while taking medications and patient education; administer medication and treatment as prescribed by the physician; assist and conduct medications and supplies inventories; stock up necessary supplies in all exam rooms and urgent care room; read and interpret the physician order and follow up care; perform some clerical duties including filing medical records, and copying medical records; maintaining of the sharp?s container; and keeping accountability of needles, syringes; interact with inmates on a daily basis regarding patient educations, medication usage and related medical conditions. This is a non-personal services contract and not a personnel appointment. The solicitation 100% set aside for small business. The solicitation will made available on or about March 13, 2003 and will be distributed solely through the General Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information regarding this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up to date information about this acquisition. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is April 16, 2003. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered.
