- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Immunization Program contemplates awarding a contract to evaluate the feasibility and approach to establishing a pediatric hospital-based sentinel network for surveillance and research on pediatric vaccine preventable diseases. The objectives of this project are to assess the feasibility of developing a sentinel network of pediatric hospitals to conduct surveillance for vaccine preventable diseases; to identify factors critical to the success of a network; to identify and weigh the advantages and disadvantages of different organizational and management structures for such a network; to assess electronic reporting capabilities; and to determine potential costs. Proposals may be subject to Peer Review. Peer review is a process that includes independent assessment of research by a panel of experts who provide written assurance that their reviews are free of real or perceived conflicts of interest. It is anticipated that a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract will be made. The performance period for the contract will be 12 months. This will be a full and open competition requirement. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541710. See Numbered Note 26. Upon issuance, the RFP will be available on the Internet at www.eps.gov. The date specified for receipt of offers will be approximately 40 days after the solicitation issue date. The solicitation issue date will be on or about April 21, 2003.
