Description
Synopsis and Request for Information/Sources Sought Synopsis. The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane has a requirement for a ruggedized, compact optical test set for functional testing and alignment of a multi-sensor system. The multi-sensor system contains visible, NIR, and IR subsystems. The system contains three imagers; a MWIR detector, Image-Intensified (I2) CCD, and a visible CCD. The system also contains a 1.064mm laser designator/rangefinder and an 860 nm continuous-wave laser. The desired optical test set will include an optical collimator and a laser test module. The optical collimator will test the functionality and aid in alignment of the imaging systems while the laser test module will test the functionality of the lasers. It is desirable, but not required, for the laser test module to be incorporated into the collimator. The test set must be compact, ruggedized, and self-contained. The test set must utilize commercially available infrared and visible sources, targets and target wheel, and laser test equipment. Sources, targets, and laser test equipment must be computer-controlled and testing must be automated. Technical information along with availability and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) pricing information should be provided. Manufacturers submitting information are asked to break out pricing for purchases from 1 to 10 units, at quantity intervals placed at the discretion of the Manufacturer. Interested vendors should provide information along with technical questions regarding this announcement to Julie Brinson via email Brinson_j@crane.navy.mil or mail: NAVSURFWARCENDIV, Attn: Julie Brinson, Code 805H, Bldg. 3291, 300 Highway 361, Crane, IN 47522. All information must be received by 18 April 2003. This notice do es not constitute an Invitation for Bids or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it is not a commitment by the NSWC Crane to procure subject equipment. The Government is only seeking possible sources for future needs. No solicitation document exists at this time. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED.
