- Description
- NAVAIR, NAWCWD, China Lake, California intends to procure on an other than full and open basis an increase to the maximum quantity of RF Distribution Circuit Cards (CLIN 0001), Eclipse part number RFD-3000, and Reference Distribution Circuit Cards (CLIN 0002), Eclipse part number REF-1000, to support the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of the CLUSTER POINTER systems by adding an additional quantity of 40 each for use within the CLUSTER POINTER system. Modification to an existing contract, N68936-02-D-0029 is contemplated. This requirement will extend the ordering period to 31 March 2007, approximately 18 months from the current ordering period. Eclipse Electronics, Inc. developed the basic reference signal and RF distribution commercial items, which were used for commercial and military applications. To meet specific NAWCWD technical requirements, these items were initially modified under a joint development effort with the National Security Agency (NSA). Using Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) and fabrication costs of the original prototype, under the original contract, Eclipse has further modified the RF Distribution cards to meet additional NAWCWD requirements. Eclipse Electronics is the only known firm with the knowledge, experience, and technical data required. It has been determined that no other manufacturers make suitable units based on market research. The deadline for submission of responses to this announcement is 15 April 2003. No solicitation will be issued. Award will be issued under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 ? Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or services may submit a proposal that shall be considered by the agency. All responses to this announcement, other than from the source listed, will be required to submit information to verify their proposed equipment will meet the requirements.
