- Description
- Description: The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 is interested in acquiring information on .50 caliber long range sniper rifles. TACOM-ARDEC is looking for a product that is rapid-fire capable; man portable, shoulder-fired, recoil operated and semi-automatic. The rifle must deliver precision and rapid fire on targets out to 2,000 meters. The product should utilize military standard .50 caliber ammunition. The primary mission of this rifle is to engage and defeat materiel targets at extended ranges to include parked aircraft, command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) sites, radar sites, ammunition, petroleum, oil and lubricant (POL) sites, and various other thin-skinned (lightly armored) materiel targets. The primary components of the system should consist of a rifle, day optical sighting system and hard carrying case(s). It is requested, that interested companies submit a technical capabilities statement to smegee@pica.army.mil. This is a market survey, not a pre-solicitation notice. There is no formal solicitation available at this time. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. See Note 25.
