Description

NA The South Dakota Army National Guard (SDARNG) has a requirement for Architecture Engineer type design services for a specially designed readiness center of permanent masonry type construction, brick and concrete block units with concrete floors, and a meta l or single membrane roof. A multi-story structure with mechanical and electrical equipment. A Distributive Training Technology classroom is to be included in the construction of the primary facility. The estimated size of the facility is 75,847 SQ/FT. Outside supporting facilities include military and privately-owned vehicle parking, fencing, sidewalks, exterior fire protection, outside lighting, access roads, detached facility sign, wash platform, multi-level loading dock, fuel containment pad & buildi ng for fuel hauling trucks, fuel storage/dispensing system, and flagpole. Outside facilities are estimated at 101,870 SQ/FT. Physical security measures will be incorporated into design including maximum feasible standoff distance from roads, parking are as, and vehicle unloading areas, berms, heavy landscaping, and bollards to prevent access when standoff distance cannot be maintained. Cost effective energy conserving features will be incorporated into design, including energy management control systems and high efficiency motors, lighting, and HVAC systems. The location of these facilities will be in vicinity of Watertown, SD. Specifically, this requirement is for Type A and Type B services. SDARNG also anticipates a follow on contract for Type C Ser vices. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned is 541310 (formerly SIC 8712) for AE Design Services. Preliminary cost estimate for the resulting construction is greater than $10M. Standard DOD selection procedu res will be utilized. In addition to the selection criteria listed in Numbered Note 24, the following additional selection criteria will be used: 1) Experience designing this type of facility 2) Availability of key personnel and 3) Volume of SDARNG Work previously awarded.
