Description
NA With this announcement, the Chicago District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for Maintenance Dredging at the Calumet River in Chicago. The contractor will be responsible for maintenance dredging of approximately 207,000 cubi c yards of required material as well as 111,800 cubic yards of allowable material at Calumet River, and rehandling and disposal of the material into the Chicago Area Confined Disposal Facility (CDF). MECHANICAL DREDGING is required. This is a one foot a llowable overdepth directly below the required dredging. The Government furnished disposal area is located in Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Calumet River adjacent to the Harbor area to be dredged. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 237990, and the size standard is $17.0M. This project is 100% set-aside for Small Business. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to award a firm fixed price construction contract. The estimated price range for this project is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Award will be made pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The resulting contract will be a Rated Order Certified for National Defense Use, and the contractor shall follow all the requirements of the Defense Priorities and Allocations System regulation (15 CFR 700). The level of priority is DO, and the approved program is C2. The Invitation for Bids (IFB) will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project s pecification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Minimum system requirements are a 486 based personal computer, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater and 4 MB application RAM, 4MB hard disk space and compact disk drive. Interested Bidders can download the IFB Package from the Internet Site http://www.lrl.usace.army.mil by clicking on the appropriate solicitation number. The solicitation will be available on the Internet on or abou t 11 April 2003. The due date for bids will be on or about 13 May 2003, at 2:00pm local time.
