Description
The issuance of this solicitation is extended to 31 March 2003. DSCC is soliciting for an Automotive Prime Vendor (Worldwide.) These parts will be used by the U.S. Armed Forces. Our goal will be to provide worldwide logistics support for automotive-type items. A Prime Vendor (PV) will be awarded the contract to provide 1) DLA non-stocked NSNs, 2) price listed and 3) non-price listed CAGE and P/N items. There will also be an unpriced feature, that allows for ordering items by CAGE and P/N (when not already priced). The PV will assume total supply chain management, which includes: inventory management, distribution, parts acquisition and material forecasting. The PV must possess the ability to source miscellaneous vehicular engine and power transmission equipment and to provide delivery based on requisition priority. The PV will be required to interface directly with the military customer to provide both support of parts and method of support as the customer?s environment changes. The PV will be required to receive and transmit by Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). The Government will transmit orders by EDI using conventions and formats prescribed by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) X12 and the Department of Defense (DoD) Implementation Guidelines for the transfer of acquisition data and invoicing. The anticipated initial contract period will be for two years beginning on the date of award, with eight option years for a total of ten years.
