- Description
- The U. S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals from prequalified contractors for the enclosure and remodel of 34 existing truck docks at the Worldway AMC in Los Angeles, CA. The scope of work includes: modify maneuvering dock aprons and platforms; provide additional security camera systems and upgrade existing intrusion detection system; upgrade access control system at areas currently unprotected; install additional fencing for control of employee parking areas and in protection of the area of operation for the airport runway; upgrade existing lighting systems; separate customer parking for a credit union and visitor parking from the employee parking. Note the Airport Authority will perform their phase of the work beginning in January 2004, completion of their work by May 2004. Final fencing and modifications to the rear AOA side of the site to be performed by US Postal Service contractor May 2004-July 15, 2004. The work is to be completed in 430 days after notice to proceed. Estimated range is $3,000,000-$4,000,000. This is a leased facility. The proposal must contain the offeror's overhead, profit, bonds, insurance, and all other contingencies. No allowance for such items will be made after contract award. The minority subcontracting goal for this contract will be 11%. Offers will not be publicly opened. All proposal information will remain confidential until award.
