- The solicitation will be available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov website on or about April 3, 2003. TELEPHONE REQUESTS FOR THE SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Furnish all labor, materials and equipment to restore historic masonry on the Marie Zimmermann House (circa 1913), a national register property in Pike County, Pennsylvania, within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The property is located near Milford, Pennsylvania. Critical components include removing all organic growth and ferrous metal staining with pressurized water and chemical washing and formulating an identical mortar match to the original Portland cement-based mortar for the approval of the historic architect by creating a sample board of mortar joining strips that contrast various mortar formulas of a type "S" compressive strength. The mortar will replicate all characteristics of the historic mortar in color, texture, relative hardness and joint profile. All deteriorated or missing mortar joints will be raked with hand tools and repointed with the matching mortar prepared by the contractor and approved by the historic architect. Recreated historic features in stone and brick include components of two masonry stoops, brick splash blocks and chimney cap features. Estimated price range is under $25,000. NAICS code is 238140; business size is $12.0 million. A best value solicitation will be issued on or about April 3, 2003. Quotations will be due on or about May 2, 2003.
