Description
NA The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, with Solar Turbine Incorporated, 600 E. Crescent Ave., Su ite 305, Upper Saddle River, NJ 07458. The Contractor shall provide a start up inspection, monthly preventative maintenance service, semi-annual inspections, and on-call emergency maintenance service during normal and other than normal duty hours with a two hour response time, repair and repair parts for 5 each Government owned KVA Solar Turbine Generator Backup Power System located in the Pentagon. These generators are in support of the Pentagon Telecommunications Center (PTC) located in the Pentagon, W ashington DC. The SOLAR Turbine equipment consists of generators and battery systems required to maintain an uninterrupted power supply to the computer hardware systems located in the PTC that provides 24 X 7 defense communications service. The SOLAR Tur bine back-up power system consists of three sets of generators that have been modified to work together. To accomplish this, SOLAR was required to make unique modifications to the generators and interfaces. The only source of parts for maintenance and re pair, and knowledgeable technicians of this unique system is SOLAR Turbines, Incorporated. The government anticipates a Fixed Price contract with cost reimbursable CLINs for emergency calls and major replacement parts. This action is being issued under th e authority of FAR Part 13.5 utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Commercial/Items Services under FAR Part 12. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 811310 with size standard of $6.0 million. This requirement is fo r a 12-month base year contract with four (4) 12-month option periods. This is not a request for quote or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Request for copies of a solicitation will not be honored. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
