Description

Repair Kitchens, Bathrooms, Heating in Beira Mar Housing Area at Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal. Work to be performed consists of the following features, but in no way limits the contractor to perform all work required by drawings and specifications for this project: Remove all existing systems, items and equipment as specified. Perform required demolition, cutting, patching, and modifications. Provide renovations to kitchen and bathrooms including installation of new cabinetry fixtures appliances and accessories. Provide modifications to existing concrete and CMU construction. Provide new doors and finishes, and remove, protect, store and reinstall any items that are indicated to be reinstalled on drawings or as required by new construction. Furnish and install electrical, mechanical, plumbing, distribution systems and equipment and provide testing and balancing of all new equipment and any altered existing equipment. Provide all necessary labor, appliances, equipment, and materials for the installation of the equipment mentioned above including all wall and floor openings and penetrations, fire stopping, construction of new wall partitions and the demolition and removal of debris as indicated on the drawing or required for the installation of new work. The performance period is approximately 285 calendar days. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Performance Price Tradeoff (PPT) procedures will be utilized for this procurement. North American Industry Classification System assigned to this acquisition is 233220. This requirement is restricted to mainland Portugal and its territories. All responsible sources meeting the criteria set forth in the Request for Proposal (RFP) may submit an offer, which will be considered by the Government. The request for Proposal (RFP) package will be available for downloading and viewing at Electronic Posting System (EPS) at http://www.eps.gov on or about 07 Apr 03. A pre-proposal conference and a site visit will be held at Lajes Field on or about 21 Apr 03. The RFP package will be available on the Internet only. There will be no hard copies of this solicitation issued. The solicitation, plans, specifications, and drawings will not be provided in a printed paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government?s best interest. All proposals and other normal documents required for the proposal submittal, including amendments to the proposal submittal, shall be in paper medium. All contractors interested in receiving notification of updates/amendments to the solicitation posted on the EPS are urged to enroll on the web site mailing list for this acquisition. Those contractors enrolled will be notified automatically of any changes made to the RFP through their e-mail addresses. No telephone requests will be accepted.
