- Description
- The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives (ATF) intends to negotiate on a Sole Source Basis with Armalite Corporation for the purchase of forty (40) AR-10 (T) rifles. The rifles shall meet the following mandatory requirements: Acceptance of the .308 caliber cartridge; Employment of currently utilized Colt M-4 ?type? fire controls (requiring no additional transition training); Match chamber equipped (for best accuracy with current ammunition); 20? Match barrel and crown equipped (for best established accuracy standards); Free floating barrel equipped (for best established accuracy standards); Low scope mounting location to affix Rail or adapter for scope height reduction (established standard for best accuracy and security); 100-yard accuracy within one minute of angle; Ability to accept detachable magazine of ten or more rounds. This requirement will be accomplished through Commercial Items Procedures under FAR Part 12. No solicitation is available. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Offerors shall present clear and convincing evidence that they can provide a product which meets ATF's minimum needs. This information should be received within five days after date of publication of this synopsis in order to be considered by the Government. ATF will evaluate this information to determine if a competitive procurement can be conducted. Closing date March 24, 2003.
