- Description
- THIS PROCUREMENT IS FULL AND OPEN. The "New Office Building" project consists of new one-story office building with mechanical penthouse at the FDA San Juan, Puerto Rico facility. This project will include, but is not limited to site-work and the extension of site utilities to serve the new office building. The new office consists of approximately 644 square meters of office space, bathrooms, and locker room space. The work includes, but is not limited to: Pre-cast concrete piles, pre-cast and cast-in-place concrete, site utilities installation, asphalt pavement, masonry work, building insulation, EPDM membrane roofing, window and doors, and hurricane louvers; interior construction and finishes, mechanical work included but not limited to HVAC water treatment, hydronic pumps, air terminal unit; plumbing; electrical work included but not limited to underground ducts and utility structure, interior and exterior lighting, voice and data communication cabling; lighting protecting system, fire alarm fire-suppression piping. The total period of performance is 270 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated Damages if project not completed in time in the amount of $1,400 per day. In accordance with FAR 36.204, the magnitude of this construction project is estimated to be between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Award is anticipated approximately July 15, 2003, or later. The solicitation will be available on/about April 7, 2003 and is open to all qualified contractors. This Request for Proposals is a negotiated best-value solicitation. The solicitation and all attachments, except the plans and specifications, will be available on or about April 4, 2003 on the FedBizOpps website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov . HHS/FDA. Prospective offerors are responsible for downloading the solicitation, attachments, and amendments. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the FedBizOpps website for the release of the solicitation and amendments. Hard copies will be provided to individuals eligible under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act upon request. Although the solicitation is available on the internet, the plans and specifications can only be acquired by written request (referencing the solicitation number and including a contact person, company name and address, telephone and fax numbers) and including the appropriate payment to the Food and Drug Administration, Division of Construction and Agency Support Contracting, 5630 Fishers Lane, Room 2057, Rockville, MD 20857. The plans and specifications are available at a nonrefundable cost of $224.00 per set and only company checks or money orders will be accepted and they shall be made payable to the "Food and Drug Administration." The availability of plans and specifications is limited and will be furnished, until the supply is exhausted, on a first received, first served basis. Government will be responsible to mail the specification and drawing regular mail only. Government will not be responsible for lost or delayed mail. If firms requests UPS or FedEx, please provide your account number on your request to be mailed via UPS or FedEx.
