Description

The Internal Revenue Service has a requirement for security services at major IRS installations in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area as described in Sources Sought Notice SGS-2003-01, posted November 29, 2002. Work population at the sites is approximately 9,000 employees. Most posts will require armed guards and are operational 12 hours a day, 5 days a week. Others are operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Relief guards will also be required to cover lunches and breaks. Customary background and weapons checks will be required prior to perfomance and at designated renewal intervals, along with IRS background investigations. Duties include, but are not limited to, indiviudal and vehicular access control; visitor center processing; internal, external and vehicular roving patrols; alarm monitoring; operating x-ray and magnetometer equipment; as well as responding to incidents and writing incident reports. This acqusition will be unrestricted with regard to business size; however, responses will be limited to firms who are on GSA Schedule 539, Solutions and More (SAM), SIN 246-54, Guard Services, on the RFQ closing date. Special Standard of Responsibility: To be qualified for award, offerors must clearly demonstrate with their offers that they are licensed to do business in both Maryland and the District of Columbia on the RFQ closing date and throughout the contract performance period. The RFQ should be distributed and available on the web site www.irs.procurement.treas.gov on or about April 1, 2003. The RFQ closing date will be 30 days after the release date. Questions and communications must be delivered by electronic mail or facsimile; no telephonic communications are authorized.
