IPD Dated 12/12/01 (2/10/00) NSN 8465-01-310-5130 NFES 0911 LINER, 5 GALLON DRINKING WATERBAG: Shall have the following characteristics: 5 Gallon Liner for Type I (Drinking) Waterbag. First article sample(s) are required. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. The liners for the Type I water bag shall be Liqui-Box Corp. Liqui-Box Corp. Liner WS18L-3 with T1 Toggle valve; or Scholle Corp. style R-0024-11-565 with style 1100 dispensing spigot; or Scholle Corp. style N-0020-11-563 with 1100 dispensing spigot. Liners shall meet all requirements of 21 CFR 121, Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and Regulations Promulgated Thereunder that pertain to materials in contact with drinking water and National Sanitation Foundation standards 60 and 61. Finished liners shall impart no objectionable odor or any noticeable taste to the water. They shall be clean, well finished, and free from dirt, oil, foreign matter, rough or sharp edges, scratches, scuffs, cracks, creases, tears, cuts, holes, and blisters. PACKAGING: Ten (10) liners shall be packaged in a plastic bag or fiberboard box and closed to prevent accidental opening. PACKING: Ten (10) packages of liners (100 total liners) shall be packed in a close-fitting corrugated fiberboard box, minimum burst strength 200 psi, and shall be in compliance with the Uniform Freight Classification and the National Motor Freight Classification. SPECIAL MARKING: The National Fire Equipment System (NFES) number appearing below the National Stock Number (NSN) of this Item Purchase Description shall be marked on the shipping container below the NSN. The NFES number shall be preceded by "NFES". MARKING: Shipments to GSA and other civilian agencies shall be marked in accordance with FED-STD-123. Shipments to the Department of Defense (DOD) shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. PALLETIZATION: The shipping containers shall be palletized. The pallets shall be 48-inch length x 40-inch width, general purpose, four-way entry, flush stringer, double face non-reversible pallets. The palletized load shall not exceed 2500 pounds in weight. The palletized load shall not overhang the pallet and shall not exceed 53 inches in overall height. Less than half pallet loads or loads shipped by small package carrier need not be palletized. NOTICE: All lumber used inside or outside a shipment shall be BARK FREE. UNITIZATION OF PALLET LOAD: The palletized load shall be unitized and secured to the pallet to insure that the load arrives intact to the ordering activity. NOTICE OF SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR SHIPMENT TO EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES: Per Clause D-FSS-468, non-manufactured wood pallets and other non-manufactured wood package material used in shipments destined for ultimate delivery to or through a European Union (EU) country shall comply with the Emergency Measures (2001/219/EC) adopted by the Commission of the European Communities (CEC). Additionally, shipments delivered to DoD distribution facilities or freight consolidation points for eventual delivery to or through EU countries shall comply with DLA PROCLTR 01-15.
