- Description
- The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is seeking sources capable of providing soil conservation technician services in western South Dakota. These services include providing conservation assistance to private landowners for conservation planning, field inventories, field investigations, wetland and highly erodible land identification, NEPA and cultural resource evaluation, topographic surveys, inventories of soils and water resources, collection of data, design and construction of soil and water conservation practices, construction inspection and training of other staff and partner agency staff in providing these services to landowners. South Dakota State Law requires all engineering practices to be developed under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer. These services are currently being provided by Government personnel. NRCS is conducting a Direct Conversion with Cost Comparison Study. Offerors are advised that a contract may not be awarded if the cost of contract performance is determined to be greater than the cost of in-house performance by the Government. This synopsis is NOT a request for proposal and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 541990. It is anticipated that a solicitation will be released on or about April 21, 2003. The solicitation will be made available on the Federal Business Opportunities site when it is released.
