Description
THIS IS A SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. NAICS CODE 541990. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for measurements of mass spectral data to be added to the NIST Mass Spectral Database using a Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS) for the Physical and Chemical Properties Division (PCPD) of the Chemical Science and Technology Laboratory. Three categories of data will be ordered under this contract: Category A - GC/MS spectra of compounds of present in the natural water and in soil, currently absent in the database; Category B - GC/MS spectra for compounds with low quality spectra in the current database or spectra for which there is only a single copy of the spectrum; Category C: GC/MS spectra of compounds of synthetic origin currently not present in the database. A minimum of 500 spectra of each type will be ordered each year. NIST may order as many as 4000 spectra of each type each year of the contract. All data must be taken on electron ionization quadrupole mass spectrometer. The contract will have a base year and two option years. A more thorough description of the requirement will be in the Statement of Work in the solicitation. An award will be made using FAR Part 13.5 - Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The solicitation, SB1341-03-R-0008, will be issued on or around January 22, 2003. The competitive solicitations, solicitation amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov.
