- The work involves the following: The construction of one dormitory (15,532 GSF) containing sleeping rooms, toilets, lounges, offices, study rooms and laundry rooms. The period of performance for construction is 300 calendar days from Notice-To-Proceed through completion of the project. The estimated cost range of construction is between $1,000,000 to $3,000,000. The Plans and Specifications will be available on March 28, 2003, only from the Architect/Engineer firm of Staunton Chow Engineers & Architects, 10 Carlos Chardon Street, Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. Contact Mr. Tony Moreno (787) 754-6800 ext. 609, for additional information. Collect calls WILL NOT be accepted. It is emphasized that requests for plans and specifications should be directed to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of request. Requests must be in writing and a $150.00 refundable bid-deposit is required (Plans and Specifications MUST be returned in good condition). This bid-deposit must be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or a money-order made payable to the U.S. Department of Labor, and submitted to the A/E firm at the time of request. Please provide your EIN number (Tax ID number) on each check and/or money order. Failure to do so may result in your deposit not being refunded. Requests subject to the stated bid-deposit amount will be limited to the issuance of one complete set per request from any interested party. Plans and specifications will be made available for pick up at the A/E's office, or may be arranged for delivery at an additional charge. Any additional shipping and/or handling charges must be pre-paid and COD requests will not be accepted. Requests must be in writing and will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until the initial supply is exhausted. For additional sets requested from interested parties subject to bid-deposit requirements, or for requests made after the initial supply has been exhausted, a non-refundable fee not to exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus a shipping charge will be required in order to obtain the IFB document. A pre-bid walk-through is scheduled for April 4, 2003, at 2:00 pm (local time) at the Center. This will be the only opportunity to review the job site prior to submission of bids. The Bid Openings Date is scheduled for April 27, 2003 at 2:00pm (local time) at the A/E's office. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 233320. The Small Business Size Standard is $28.5 million. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside Acquisition.
