- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center intends to award a requirements-type contract, consisting of one base year and four option years, for the machining, inspection, preservation, special packaging, and marking of various sized Propulsion Shafts used onboard various sized Coast Guard cutters. The Engineering Logistics Center shall provide GFP shaft blanks. Contractors shall be required to provide all labor, materials, testing, preservation, and special packaging required to machine these shaft blanks in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard Specification Number P-243-0145 and referenced Coast Guard drawings. Delivery of shafts shall be F.O.B. Destination to the U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center, 2401 Hawkins Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21226-5000, within approximately 120 calendar days after receipt of GFP shaft blanks. Quality Assurance inspection at origin shall be required and shall be conducted by a U.S. Coast Guard Quality Assurance Representative. This acquisition is being solicited on an unrestricted basis. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the Agency. Specific information regarding shaft sizes, estimated quantities, etc., shall be specified in the solicitation. The solicitation package shall be available for download from FedBizOpps at www.eps.gov, on or about 11 April 2003. This date is estimated at best and interested sources are encouraged to periodically check FedBizOpps daily, on or about this date, until the solicitation becomes available. See Numbered Note 12.
